💡 Smart Watering Tips

⏰ Best Time to Water

Early morning (6-10 AM) is ideal. Water has time to soak in before heat, and foliage dries quickly preventing disease.

💧 Deep vs Shallow

Water deeply but less often – encourages deep root growth. Better than frequent shallow watering.

👆 The Finger Test

Stick your finger 2″ into soil. Dry = water now. Moist = wait. This is more reliable than a schedule!

🎯 Water the Roots

Direct water at the soil, not leaves. Wet foliage invites disease. Use soaker hoses or drip irrigation when possible.

🍃 Mulch Magic

2-3″ of mulch reduces water needs by 50%! Keeps soil moist longer, reduces evaporation.

🌡️ Temperature Matters

Hot days (85°F+): May need daily watering
Cool days: Every 3-4 days
